Yes!!! RIU Palace Peninsula opened this past Friday, May 4th. I’m not quite certain how they do it, but these hotels manage to open the doors faster than we do here in the States….Just a few weeks ago, one would have guessed there was going to be a delay of a few days. Fortunately, I have experience in watching the resorts come together and I wasn’t worried. In Mexico, they have a huge workforce to pull from and the resorts hire a ton of people to put the finishing touches on a new resort to “make the date”.  It is truly an impressive structure. It’s not often you visit a place for the third or fourth time and have an epiphany! It happened on my last visit to Azul Beach. I guess I have always been there in the fall or when kids were in school. Are you wondering what I am talking about? Families! It’s a family place. A REAL place for a family all inclusive vacation! It hit me like a ton of bricks. I was there during spring break for families and we had the opportunity to stay for the evening meal. It was then that I knew…..”This place is for families!”.  It was evident by the sheer number of strollers, kids of all ages and the relaxed look on most of the parent’s faces.
