Entry Requirements
All travelers between the U.S. and the Caribbean will be required to carry passports beginning January 1, 2007 as mandated by the United States Department of Homeland Security and the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative. We encourage you to begin the passport application processes early to avoid unexpected delays. Travelers should allow a minimum of six weeks between their application submission and receipt of passport. Passports can be expedited for an additional fee. All visits to Antigua require roundtrip airfare and can be no longer than six months without a Visa.
Foreign residents of the United States and all other foreign visitors not holding a US Passport must contact the appropriate government authorities to determine the entry and visa requirements.
Departure Tax
Antigua has a $20 per person departure tax which is subject to change.
What to Wear
Light shirts and shorts are best suited for the warm year-round weather and swimwear should be kept near the beach and pool areas. Some restaurants may require jackets for men and dresses for ladies. Resort restaurants typically require a collared shirt and long pants for men and island casual for ladies when dining in the evening.
Banks & Currency
The official currency of Antigua is the Eastern Caribbean dollar, which currently has an exchange rate of 2.67. The U.S. dollar, as well as traveler’s checks and major credit cards, are accepted everywhere. Banks are open throughout the week from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Driving
Remember to drive on the left side of the road when visiting Antigua. A valid driver’s license, either national or international, and a permit issued from Antigua is required to drive on the island. The temporary permit is valid for three months and costs $20. Vehicle rental agencies can assist in obtaining the permit. Driving in the islands is best left to professional taxis or transportation provided by the resort.

Calls to the U.S. are easy in Antigua as most hotels offer direct U.S. calling.
Electricity
Some of Antigua is powered with 110 volt outlets while the remaining is 220 volts. The majority of hotels feature both voltages.

Airports

- Both parties must be over fifteen and provide written authorization from the legal guardian if under 18.
