Entry Requirements
The US Virgin Islands are considered a United States territory and does not require a passport for travel. However, All Inclusive Outlet recommends the use of a passport for US Citizens traveling to this area. A government issued photo id/driver's license and a birth certificate are required to verify citizenship upon your return to the US Mainland. Photocopies of identification are NOT acceptable. A change of intinerary/destination due to unforeseen circumstances or a disruption in the airline schedule may result in travel to areas that require a passport. Travelers interested in a ferry trip to the British Virgin Islands will be required to show a US Passport for entry.
Foreign residents of the United States and all other foreign visitors not holding a US Passport must contact the appropriate government authorities to determine the entry and visa requirements.
All travelers between the U.S. and the Caribbean are required to carry passports beginning January 1, 2007 as mandated by the United States Department of Homeland Security and the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative. We encourage you to begin the passport application process early to avoid unexpected delays. Travelers should allow a minimum of six weeks between their application submission and receipt of passport. Passports may be expedited for an additional fee. What to Wear
Light shirts and shorts are best suited for the warm year-round weather and swimwear should be kept near the beach and pool areas. Some restaurants may require jackets for men and dresses for ladies. Resort restaurants typically require a collared shirt and long pants for men and island casual for ladies when dining in the evening.
Banks and Currency
As a U.S. territory, the dollar is the standard of currency in St. Thomas. Credit cards and traveler’s checks are generally accepted and banks are open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
