We cellebrated our 30th anniversary at Sans Souci resort. It was a fabulous time, even though we had trying U.S. Airways flights (misconnections) and lost luggage for 2 days. We were scheduled to arrive at Sans 3:00 PM on Friday 10/15 but arrived at 12:30 am 10/16 after an exciting and scary at times 2 hr trip from Montego Bay. The road is both 3 lane highway to a dirt path which our driver knew from heart. They are building the road as we speak. The driver was very good, just not used to left-side and roads. Arrived late and check-in was uneventful. We were brought to the A Block 2nd floor which had a Jacuzzi, King size bed, balcony and small sitting area. I had a bouquet of flowers and chocolates waiting for us and the hotel had a bottle of champaign and cheese plate. Even though we weren't really hungry, we ate some and drank the wine. The next day, we had to buy some clothes (swimming suits etc) until our baggage arrived. All the clothes were very reasonably priced which surprised me having previously stayed at the Grand Lido Negril. After getting our swim suits on, we went to the spa and scheduled a 30 minute massage. A good way to start a vacation. My wife later had the 60 minute facial, 60 minute manicure and pedicure and a 60 minute massage. I had another 30 minute massage later in the week. Having a massage out in a gazebo and hearing the splash of ocean waves really helped start off the week. Food was excellent, we missed the gala on Friday nite but the Beach party on Tuesday was lobster, jerk, assorted entreys etc with entertainment was great. We ate at Casanova (French Rest) twice and enjoyed the food and service. The Piazza (Italian at night) was also very good. The Piazza also serves breakfast and lunch buffet. We had the candelight dinner in our room and the menu was very good. We had champaigne almost every night in our room. There are also 3 beach grills with one serving Jamaican style dinner. Drink, each bar tender had at least 2 speciality drinks which they made as well as top shelf liquor - CC, Hennesy, Johnny Walker. The beers were Red Strip and Miller. Water sports - tried Scuba, had personal problem not resorts problem, so I didn't get to do as much as I wanted. Dive masters - very professional, good equipment, diving isn't bad for Jamaica. Snorkeling was okay but waves were somewhat high and wife couldn't swim very well so we skipped. Pools and Pool bars had good drinks. Especially enjoyed Mineral Pool in afternoon with Hopelain ( Bar tender) - very nice lady. We enjoyed teasing her. Clothing optional beach has neat pool with grotto and waterfall. More clothes on beach than not. No one cared and all were very tolerant. People - mix of old and young, newly weds and couples. Met some great people. Did side trip of Ocho Rios highlights instead of booze cruise, mountain biking or 3 hour horse/ocean ride. Enjoyed Dunns Rivers, shopping both native and duty-fee as well as botanical gardens on highlights. This is a small resort - 122 rooms, very personable, staff friendly. Occupancy was only 40-50% due to Hurricane aftermath - people just not going. Highly recommend this and would go back in heartbeat.

This place really is a slice of paradise. The resort is constructed so beautifully. It is like an adult playground. My family was there to celebrate my brother's wedding. The resort staff is absolutely delightful. You will love Couples Resort San Souci. Guranteed.

My husband and I just recently arrived back from our vacation at Couples San Souci. The resort was everything I wanted in a relaxing vacation. Everything that I read about the resort was true. The grounds were impeccable. Yes there are alot of stairs but after eating all that delicious food I didnT mind. I have been to many all inclusive resorts and this one was definitely the best.. There were no surprises and everything that was advertised was there for you plus more. I usually have a problem with the dining at all inclusive resorts but Couples San souci was my type of place. Exquisite cuisine, snack bar a plus, excellent spa treatment,excellent service. The staff made the resort exceed my expectations. The one aspect of the resort that I enjoyed the best was the privacy. It was as though we were at our private beach resort. The only time you have to be in the company of other guests is when your dining. Even at the pool and the beach we felt like we were the only ones there. Actually, at the mineral pool we had the pool to ourselves many times. I would definitely go back to Couples San Souci and I am going back July 2008.

The massage, the turtle Charlie, and water events made my stay worth every cent I spent. Everyone on your staff is to be commended, they rolled out the red carpet. I have been telling all of my friends about the resort and suggested they check Sans Souchi out. IThis was my second time to Jamaica, where I stayed at the other Couples resort, but I must say I had the best time of my life with you at Sans Souchi. My wife and I will be back. I do however need an address to the resort to submitt some pictures for the free stay. Again, thanks for making our stay so great. Respect, Terrell

My husband and I landed at Sangster International Airport on April 4, 2008 for a 5 night stay for our anniversary. Got thru customs quickly (make sure your forms are completed BEFORE getting off your plane). We were greeted warmly at the Couples lounge inside the airport. Hubby grabbed a complimentary Red Stripe and off we were to the resort. The drive is about 1 hour and 45 minutes to the resort....beautiful drive. The ocean was just beautiful. We arrived at the resort and were greeted again warmly by the front desk and shown to our room (beach front Jacuzzi suite- A22). Our suite was clean, although the furniture and TV were dated badly (more on this later). Our first stop was for some lunch at the Bella Vista. Great little lunch & dinner (more on this later also) spot. Although we got “server in training" and she seemed less than happy to be there. Unfortunately, every lunch we ate at the Bella Vista, she was our server. But the food was always great, whether lunch or dinner! So I high recommend this restaurant. We actually ended up eating more than one dinner at this restaurant because every morning I tried to make reservations at the Palazzina or Casanova, I was always told it was booked...the only reservations available were 8:30 or 9 pm. Although every time we walked by those restaurants at our requested time (7 pm), there were always several tables empty. So we ate every dinner at Bella Vista or room service. The breakfast in the Palazzina was adequate. The omelets were divine! Service...so so. Now...onto watersports. The watersports staff was awesome! Clayton took my husband and I out on the catamaran and he let us just chill out for a bit. We went snorkeling everyday. Although we found out on our last day that they offer an intertube ride on the back of the power boat...book this early in your trip as it fills up quickly. We missed out because they were booked up. We did the shopping excursion.....Soni Shopping Plaza. You can skip this.... pushy vendors. Definitely avoid the market across the street. The marijuana smell was horrible! We also did the Dunn's River excursion....and had a blast! We are in our 30's and physically fit. If you are not, you shouldn't climb the falls. There was an older gentleman who had no business climbing these falls. He moaned and groaned the entire climb....and slowed the whole group up. Regardless, we did have fun. Take caution when tipping the guides. We had 2 guides, my husband handed the one "head guide” $10 assuming the guides split the tips....not so. He told my husband not to forget to tip the other guide. Hubby told the "head guide" that he was to split the tip in half....that sent both guides off. Ugh! Regardless, don't be swindled out of your money. Back to San Souci..... the entertainment was second to none. We saw A.J. Brown perform at the Gala Night. He was soooooo wonderful! He did an Andrea Bocelli song and it was so beautiful I almost cried. The entertainment staff was great also! A big shout out to Kimberlee! She always recognized us and greeted us by name. In our room....we had a king bed. I think this bed is left over from the 80's. More like a slab of concrete. Every morning our backs and hips hurt. Although other rooms, not in our category have been refurbished. We did speak with a few other couples that had our type of room and they also remarked at the shabby furniture and uncomfortable beds. But Sandy was our housekeeper and she was great!!! Always made sure we had everything we needed. The bathroom was clean and well stocked. Hubby used the Jacuzzi tub once and said it worked well.  Overall, Couples San Souci was a beautiful resort. Well maintained, charming and very private....best for honeymooners, anniversary celebrations and couples wishing to reconnect. This is not a party resort in anyway....mind you; you will enjoy yourself if you are looking for a relaxing vacation. Will I return....probably not. Too many other places in the Caribbean I think I would rather check out. Pros: ground maintenance, Bella Vista, free excursions, food, watersports & entertainment staff Cons: beds, furniture, restaurants requiring reservations, servers in training (smile some more!), A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE FOLLOWING STAFF: Kimberlee in Entertainment; Sandy in Housekeeping; Maureen & Fabian at the Bella Vista; Easton at the Pool Bar; Adrian in the Bella Vista kitchen; the ENTIRE Watersports staff! Thanks...YOU made our vacation great!
