We stated in a garden view junior sweet and didn't find ourselves lacking for anyhting. I played tennis with the tennis pro for free three consectutive days it was wonderful. Plenty or nothing to do depending on your mood. The only thing i can say is i wouldn't hesitate to send any of my family or friends to the EXcellence Punta cana. And I will definetly go back.

The trip from Santo Domingo was challenging, we rented a car and it took 6 hours to get there, since there are no maps and no directions to be found anywhere. The resort is really only 3 1/2 hours away from Santo Domingo, it is actually on Playa Uvero Alto. But it was all well worth it, no question about it. The beach was superb, the staff friendly and very helpful and the food was excellent. I am planning to go back soon. It really is heaven on Earth

The atmosphere was great, the food was awesome and the staff was excellent. Isabel, Fransico, Rudy, Ricardo, Carolina, Angel all of these employees made our stay great. First name basis is cool when your there for 6 days. We are going back in may of next year for our one year anniversary. We were talking about that before we left. I would recommend this resort to anyone who wants to have a good time and just relax. This is the place.

I went there for my son's wedding. Excellence far exceeded my expectations. We wouldn't normally go to an all-inclusive, usually preferring to stay somewhere and go exploring on our own. But this worked out perfectly. My husband had a broken leg and we wouldn't have been able to do a lot of gallivanting even if we could. The pools extend almost the entire length of the resort, meaning that most guests can just go out to the front of their room and get to the pool in about a minute. Though the food was "banquet" food, prepped and cooked mostly in a central kitchen and brought over to the 7 restaurants, it was very, very good. Places usually chintz on the desserts at a place like this, but the cakes, flans, and puff pastries were extremely well done and tasty, with no artificial taste. The staff is on call and accommodating 24/7. Please remember to tip them. It is a seamless and smooth operation. The beach is beautiful and the surf is probably the best I have ever swum in. The only drawback for me was that the A/C is not as cold as I would have preferred. I would definitely go back.

The accommodations were superb, the choice of restaurants were excellent, and the entertainment was wonderful. You receive a daily activity sheet each night for the next dayso that you can plan your day accordingly. There are a variety of fun activities to choose fr om. We participated in some, but mostly relaxed on the beautiful beach! The staff at Excellence Punta Cana are very friendly and accommodating. This was a vacation dream come true! We highly recommend this resort.

Def a 5 or 6 star! We were so happy with our trip we are planning another next summer. The resort is great, the food (except the buffet) offered an app., meal, and dessert. I think we pretty much got our money's worth on the meals (olive garden/outback steakhouse) and the free drinks. We did a couple tours and speaking with others we realized we were lucky that our resort had plenty of huts on the beach while other resorts you had to get up early to claim the few amount. Even on the beach, everything is so spread out I do not think anything is within 15ft of you (unless you drag your chair to someone elses). Often it was perfect because you feel as if there was maybe 50 people staying at the hotel. They have a huge piece of land for the number of rooms. (that is one of the reasons why we picked this hotel, plus there was more restaurants and less people-432roomsX2 guests=no waiting line for food). The shows the hotel put on at night are similar to a comedy show, concert, and entertainment. ALL of the staff that you come in contact with (front desk, room service, tours) speak english, and I was surprised at the front desk especially, I would have thought their primary language was English. The maid could understand when we pointed to towels and said 'more/mas' so they understand a little. We left $3 each day for the maid (even though tipping was included) and if we asked the mini bar to leave a bottle of Jack Daniels (which is free) we would leave $5 because he would have it back in the room by noon. The whole staff is very friendly. The resort did have the free stuff, we did do the horseback, boogie boards, and snorkeling but the waves were kinda rough while we were there. They have a little market set up outside the beach property line, which will have the vendors wanting to trade you soad,water, and whiskey for their items or they will be happy to take american $$. The hotel breaks US into US for FREE (we found out on the tour other hotels such as Sunscape charge 10% fee). The atm there however will give you pesos. The gift shop is expensive on meds, so pack some extra and a water proof camer is $21 so make sure you pick that up at walmart unlike us. Allinclusiveoutlet...this was my first time using them. I did some research and read feedback on several other websites about them and the owner and everything was positive (a travel agency had advised me not to book things online). We had our booklet from Allinclusive about 1 1/2 months before we left with all of our info. we went straight to the VIP (name) booth upon arrival at airport they had all of our information and so did the hotel, so everything was smooth. The ages were mid 20's for all the honeymoon people, and the rest varied from 30-50's. Some were from england and spain but i think majority were American. The resort and this website gave us a perfect vacation, and we are planning taking another one soon. We miss the beach and clear water!!!

My husband and I liked this resort so much, we wanted to tell others about it. Everything is so clean and well maintained. The trip from the airport is an adventure on narrow roads, but well worth it. The two-story pool is AWESOME. We spent a lot of time there... there were always only about 10 people at that pool, as compared to the other pool. The people who wait on you speak great English, and are very, very helpful. You cannot be sitting anywhere on the resort for more then 5 minutes, and someone will walk by asking if you would like something to drink or if they could help you. We ate at the Italian, American, Mexican, and Chinese restaurants and they all had amazing food. The beach is amazing. A couple of scenic photos we took, everyone keeps asking us if we are sure they are not postcards. We highly recommend this resort to everyone.

This was my first visit to Excellence Punta Cana and it really was wonderful. I do think that the 5 star rating may be true for the Dominican, but world-class, I would give it a 3.5-4. Problems with the screen door opening onto the balcony, the in-room mini-bar was limited to soda, water, juice and beer. But overall, I had a great time; the restaurants were all good, staff were friendly and very helpful, lots of activities planned and the beach was wonderful. I would go back in a heartbeat!

All i can say is wow!!!. My fiance and i went there for a vacation and it was sooo worth our money. The staff is super friendly, The resort is breathtaking, the service was excellent and there is just so much to do. I highly recommend going 4-wheeling and horseback riding.. They take you through the local towns so you can really see all the DR has to offer, ALso, respect the sun!!! it is very strong so make sure you use plenty of sunblock.. Bring lots of dollar bills to tip the staff because they wait on you hand and foot and they really appreciate it.. If you want to buy gifts to bring home, Go see nancy. She has a little shop down the beach and her prices are outstanding!! try and stay away from the vendors, they charge you outrageous prices, and nancy is more resonable.. Just face the water and walk down the beach to your left.. I cant wait to go back!!!

I have never seen such a large pool as what Excellence Punta Cana has and it is exceptionaly clean. The swim up bar is great and you can lounge around on floats and drift thru the pool for hours on end. The beach is fantastic, plenty of beach to walk and play in the surf. Becareful though the waves are rough becouse it is on the Atlantic Ocean side. Staff, food and entertainment were all excellent. Would recommend this resort to anyone who just wants to relax and enjoy the beach, pool, sun and wine and dine.

Before deciding on this resort, my wife and I read through these reviews very carefully and in great detail, to get the best feel for the pros and cons listed for those who have been here. All of this was very helpful, as we had previously only been to one all-inclusive adult resort, the Aventura Spa Palace in Cancun, which we really enjoyed. We considered all-inclusives in Costa Rica, but settled on the Excellence Punta Cana based on its rating (top resort of 72 in Punta Cana, and #2 overall in the Dominican Republic). Overall, our experience with the resort and impressions matched what we read, and was positive for the most part. Here are our detailed impressions, which I hope are as helpful to others as others were to us. On the positive side, the resort is beautiful, large, easy to get around, very quiet, and relaxing. The beach area at Excellence Punta Cana is fabulous, with plenty of well-maintained seating to include beds and hammocks. The water was very appealing, and the surf not as rough as in the reviews I read, although it was a bit strong at times. The sand was perfect. The grounds are kept very nice, with the only exception not being picked up thoroughly overnight, as we saw towels, glasses, dishes and other items left over from the night before at various locations on the grounds. The pools were very nice, with plenty of locations to sit. We particularly liked the setup by the main pool, where there were many locations with two lounge chairs under a palm leaf canopy, which was great given the heat and sunshine. The second pool was very nice, particularly in that it is two-level with a waterfall. This was very peaceful and not crowded. The restaurants and food were very good overall...nice selection of up to 10 restaurants. We liked just about all of them, and overall the food was good. We really liked the fact that dressing up for dinner was required. It added class to the resort. Service was nice...waiters were impeccably dressed and very attentive. We liked the French and Asian restaurants most. Breakfast was ala carte with a wide selection. Room service food was not great, but not a big deal as we had the same impression at the AI in Cancun. Drinks were good, plenty, and always available. The daily drink special was always good, and I liked the local beer, El Presidente. The wait staff and front desk was very friendly and attentive. On the negative side, the biggest disappointment was how the room was maintained. It was not consistent in terms of providing towels, soap, and other amenities, which was frustrating as we had to track down housekeeping staff daily to obtain items. The in-room bar and snacks were average...El Presidente beer, soft drinks, and water, with low-budget snacks like packaged Oreo cookies, crackers, and peanuts. The balcony on our room had a broken rail, which was really dangerous as it was completely unhinged from the left side. I called to report this the first day, but it was never taken care of. Also, the patio furniture was flimsy, with the table very rusted out all around on the bottom. Entertainment was OK, but the shows were a bit disappointing, although we did not come for the shows and didn't really care. The lounge music was always good, especially the local comic/musician's show with audience participation. It was very funny and entertaining. The gym is very nice, and appears brand-new with lots of good exercise equipment. The tennis areas were well-maintained and staffed by a local pro who was very personable. There is also a nice sports bar with plasma TVs, pool, and foosball tables. Be prepared to be harassed by vendors in common areas, which is allowed 3 days per week by the resort. They aggressively hawk jewelry and other souveniers, which I found inappropriate for a 5-star resort, and distracting from a relaxed environment. Getting into and out of the airport was not too bad, but the ride to the resort was a challenge. It took almost 2 hours, over very rough roads, however we were the last of 4 stops, which most likely was the reason for the long trip. Getting back to the airport only took around an hour. We spent 7 days and 8 nights at the Excellence, and overall it was an OK experience. We were glad to go, but were ready to come home and would not return, not so much because of any negatives but mostly because we would want a new experience. The Excellence Punta Cana resort is a great getaway for a relaxing, peace-and-quiet experience such as a honeymoon or special occasion. I liked the fact that it was low-energy, with most people there on honeymoons or looking for a slow-paced experience.

I hated to leave. My fiance took me for my 34th birthday. We were greeted with champagne and cold towels that smelled like jasmine. It was off peak so the resort was not crowded and the beach was beautiful. We upgraded to the VIP club and my fiance had the hotel staff fill up our jacuzzi with bubbles and balloons, a Happy Birthday Eboni banner across the head board, balloons around the room and a birthday cake. When I entered the room I was so surprised. The Spa was out of this world I recommend the 80 minute facial. The resturants were great and the Dominican Beach party was out of sight all the Dominican food and music I didn't want it to end, The nightly entertainment was wonderful my fiance and I fell in love all over again. The Hotel is so clean there was a couple there who went to The Excellence in Mexico and said the one in Mexico was 10xs better. I can't imagine, but our next trip will be The Excellence Mexico. HIGHLY RECOMMEDED

This resort was awesome! We had a blast, and the staff was excellent. IWe will be going back, after I check out the other Excellence Resorts. TIP... grab your towels early. If you can't find any at the beach, go over to the small pool, you may find some still available there. Also, bring a lot of singles, and tip the wait staff and if you tip often, it feels like you are the only one they have to wait on!

Amazing Resort! Couldn't have asked for a better second honeymoon. The resort is amazingly clean. Food was plentiful and very good! Loved the buffet at Toscana for breakfast, usually had pizza delivered to us at the cascading pool (our favorite), and tried different restaurants for dinner every night. Never a complaint about the service or food. The shows were all pretty good. The circus was the best! We were treated like royalty everywhere we went on the resort. We did one excursion to snorkel in the corral reef and swim with sharks very cool. Worth the extra money. Also they have a professional photographer you can hire to take your pictures. Love having that to bring home with us. Just accentuated all our wonderful memories there. Loved loved loved it and would go back in a second. As they say it was "Excellente"!

Club paying more I felt like a queen who got anything I wanted when i wanted rooms were liquior stocked with 4 full bottles of ANY thing you wanted plus full stock fridge soda/beer/water and some candy. sorry I didnt see one mosquito at all but did bring spray with deet with me. Sunblock was a MUST have. pool was amazing, and the workers most of them understood everything you say to them the ones who have to deal with the people on an hourly basis that is. my safe broke -well the battery was low it was fixed , tubs were filled a few times a week with bubbles and flowers, champaigne on ice and chocolate covered strawberries , if we told them we wanted something done they say what time would you like it there and ready it was ALL INCLUDED if you dont take advantage of these things how can you enjoy or rave about them. the beach was beautiful WATER was a lil rough at some point the sand sinks you in but when you walk further out your high up again. ok its not CARRIBIEAN water but if you splurge on the excursions to one of the islands i did samao island THATS were the blue lagoon was filmed with brook shields its a hike and an all day trip on a catamarin and a speed boat ,but unforgetable by far. some people say who cares about the room and where its located I say - I USED the room very often *wink cause the place is romantic and we are not people who normally nap but with drinks all day and hot sunshine ITS NEEDED! and being only steps from the pool only made it easier to do that. everyone we spoke to say it was the best place they pulled up to from the few stops from the airport, and the greeting was awesome. and we did meet many who have been back to this resort many of times ONLY MEANING ONE THING- it is worth it and the service and place is just perfect. the shows were great OK so the AC in the building isnt so great but i dont think any of that country is wasting energy im sure they are all the same. the club was nice BUT VERY HOT... resturaunts were friendly and curtious and EVERYONE DESERVED A TIP... pizza was delivered to the pool area that was very nice drinks got warm fast but with that heat its expected SO JUST ORDER ANOTHER ONE! we loved it and after 18yrs being married and never traveling we were like honeymooners... YOU must go and you will see. biggest prob was AC in rooms from all that we spoke to. OH we drank the water, ate the salad, shared meals NEITHER of us got sick ... although the pina coladas/coco locos/and sammy sosas will give you the runs they are exlax in a glass if too many are consumed SO DONT BLAME THE FOOD... blame the drinking... i had all of those in a day,along with beer,white russians, champaigne, and dirty monkeys i was ok , but my husband just couldnt handle it lol ... the travel guide in the resort meet with him JOHNNY IS his name do not do anything or plan any excursions WITHOUT hearing what he has to say to you first... hes very open and honest about the place and the people surrounding it. I loved it and will never forget it... keep in mind this is a couples place pretty much and not loud - I DO HAVE TO SAY I REALLY HATE SPANISH MUSIC THOUGH ... BUT THATS just me ... enjoy meet with Carlos or Ines tell them TONY montana sent you... THEY WILL get you anything you need. and the shops next door with friendliness you will get what ever you want for as cheap as you want the walmart guy is the best and from NY queens and we knew the same places... again tell him Tony sent you =) hes the best...
