It's out of the hotel zone (which is still easily accesible) The staff are locals, very family oriented and attentive. Leaving in 2 weeks to go back and can' wait!! You will not find any rudeness from staff or teenage partiers here. Beautiful, peaceful...and still fun! A free shuttle is available to the sister resort - which has wonderful restaurants and spa. However, it is adult-only, so if you don't want to be shocked by nudity---stay clear! We took our Priest w/us last year and found ourselves standing by a pool with 6 naked men running around in a contest. Thankfully, our Pastor has a good sense of humor and we did find ourselves chuckling - but prompty departed. A few tips: bus lines don't run directly to the hotel, so take advantage of the free shuttle to the sister hotel . From there the bus lines will take you where you want to go. If you've never been to Isla Mujeres...go! It's fantastic. I recommend a snorkeling cruise. They typically give you extra time on the island so rent a golf cart and enjoy. The island can be driven, by cart, in an hour. If you have extra time, rent a car and head south. The cenotes are fantastic and the people you'll meet are second to none. One of my favorite qualities of Blue Bay Marina is the staff will let you know where and where not to go based on your needs.
