Effective April 1, 2009 the Aventura Spa Palace will be divided into two resorts. Aventura Spa Palace will remain adults-only, while the Aventura Cove Palace will accept family all inclusive vacations. Adults staying on the Spa Palace side will have access to the restaurants, bars and facilities at the Aventura Cove Palace. The hydro therapy spa is complimentary and heavenly. When you arrive at the spa desk they will escort you to your locker and provide you will a cozy robe and slippers. All the staff are friendly and very good at what they do. They will remember your name and what you drink. They really "want" to make you happy. The restaurants will accomodate all special requests with enthusiasm. No advance reservation required in any of the resteraunts. The 24 hour room service was wonderful and unbelievabley fast. The pools go on forever but the beach leaves a litle to be desired. Not really a beach but a man made lagoon. A 5 minute taxi takes you to a nice beach at Xpu-Ha Palace(an eco park with wildlife) and you can eat and drink free as part of your package. Entertainment is mediocre but after a day of activities and spa who cares. Highly recommended. In all honesty, the pictures don't give this place justice! It is so incredible clean and beautiful. The staff is courteous, helpful, and ALWAYS waiting to serve you. The lagoon was so much fun to snorkel in (and it's free!). We even saw a sting ray one day... The only downfall that we found within our stay was the ocean front rooms with the great view are for "members only" holders. So our room was on the North side on the very edge. It was a long walk wherever we went. But that's such a minute complaint! Everything else was above and beyond any expectations I could've had! Had a facial and pedicure at the spa, and it was money well-spent! The pools were big and well maintained. Definately take advantage of the free excursions, especially the one to Tulum. Only downfall was that there was not much beach, but I knew that when we booked the trip. Snorkeling with the fish in the lagoon was enjoyable. Will definately return! And, we actually really enjoyed all of the restaurants -- Momonohana had sushi/chinese, La Trattoria was great Italian, there was a steakhouse and of course, the mexican food was great. The spa was OUTSTANDING!!! A little pricey, as it is not part of the all-inclusive package, but well worth it. Excursions are not close to the resort, so keep that in mind when booking -- each excursion took up almost an entire day. Our only dissapointment was the beach.
