We went to the Bavaro Princess from November 19-26, 2006, and let me say, it's all about the beach! We booked our trip online at All Inclusive Outlet. There were eight of us in all, my wife and I, our daughter and her fiance, our two sons, our youngest son's wife and their two-year old daughter. I simply cannot understand how some of these reviews are so negative. I did not get the Platinum upgrade and I received great service. All four suites were in the same building. We did not have any bugs. We had all the hot water we needed for showers. The maids kept the suites very clean and if you needed more water or soda, all you had to do was leave a note and it would be there when you returned to your room. The chicken, pork chops, and beef cooked on the grill outside on the beach were great. Breakfast at the main buffet consisted of everything we normally eat like eggs, omelets, French toast, waffles, pancakes, sausage, bacon, and fresh fruit, including fresh squeezed orange juice. I actually preferred the buffet where there were more selections available over the restaurants where reservations were needed. I was more concerned that our two-year old granddaughter would have trouble with the food, but she knows what she likes and nobody got sick because of the food. The desserts were always plentiful and you could always find something you liked. We walked the beach and the shops to the west were a lot less pushy trying to get you to buy something than the shops to the east. Either way, the walk was 15-20 minutes to get to the shops. It rained one day while we were there and we just played in the ocean more that day. It rained a couple of nights, but I didn't hear it except when we were watching the Lion King. The shows begin at 10 p.m. and we were usually exhausted by then, but we felt the Lion King was worth staying up for. Kids 5-12 are allowed to be young lion cubs in the show. Would we go back? Absolutely!!! Maybe we'll see you there sometime.

Villas at the resort were very nice. Only problem we had was that we needed more bath towels and wash clothes so we went to the public relations desk in the lobby ( go there if you have ANY problems) and they took care of the towels right away. There were 4 of us that went, none of us got sick, and we all agreed tthat we would go back and stay at the Bavaro Princess. Some tips-take along plenty of sun screen, it is very expensive if you need to buy it there (between $15-$24) and make sure you take along tylenol ($1 a tablet) antacid, bandages, femine products, and anything else that you think that you may need. Better tio be save than sorry. I went through my medicine drawer at home and took along everything, nail clippers, nail file, imodium, anti-nausea medicine, aloe vera lotion, shampoo etc. Take it all!!! As far as the food, depending on where you ate and what you like to eat, there is something for everyone. If you get a chance, spend the $30 per person and eat at Licey. VERY nice and all the food was excellent. All 4 of us at e something different and we all enjoyed what we ate. The food is also presented very nicely. You pay extra ($182) for 4 dinners and a bottle of wine, but it was worth every penny. We ate at Bella Pasta and did not really care for the food, El Gaucho was very good, but we did not like the food at Pescador. The buffet was very good, tip your waitress and she will take very good care of you. We had a sweet young girl named Marta, who even gave us a gift when we left. Make sure that you note the times that they serve breakfast , lunch and dinner. Also, all the other restaurants require reservations that you can set up at a desk in the main lobby right outside the buffet. Get there early if you want early reservations: the earliest we were able to eat was at 8pm, but that was ok because we hung out at the beach til 6 and then went back to shower and dress for dinner. Men need to wear long pants, collar shirts and close toe shoes. The lunch that is served at the beach is very good, make sure you try the pizza, very good. The beach is BEAUTIFUL and there are plenty of lounge chairs and many places to get out of the hot sun if you desire. Be smart, drink plenty of bottled water to stay hydrated and use plenty of sunscreen and you shouldn't have any problems. There were a few people that we talked to that said that they got sick, but these were the same people that were drinking like a fish all day long and staying out in the hot sun during the hottest part of the day. We will be going back next year as we had a very enjoyable stay.

BOTH MY HUSBAND AND I WERE GUESTS AT THIS RESORT AND UPGRADED TO PLATINUM UPON ARRIVAL. OUR SUITE WAS MUCH MORE THAN WE EXPECTED. WE HAD TURN DOWN SERVICE, A WET BAR AND ALL THE TOWELS WE COULD ASK FOR. OUR REFRIGERATOR WAS STOCKED ALL WEEK . HAVING OUR POOL TOWELS IN OUR ROOM WAS GREAT EVERYDAY, NO NEED TO CONSTANTLY WALK FOR FRESH ONES. ROOM SERVICE WAS WONDERFUL ALONG WITH OUR VIEW OF THE BEACH. THE RESTERAUNTS , ALL OF THEM WERE VERY ENJOYABLE ALONG WITH THE STAFF. WE HAVE BEEN TO MANY RESORTS AND FOUND THAT THE BAVARO WAS ONE OF THE BEST. WE HAD SUCH A RELAXING VACATION AND ENJOYED OURSELVES SO MUCH THAT WE ARE GOING BACK IN APRIL. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESORT .

We attended a wedding and it was truly beautiful! I loved it and would go back again. The suites were very nice and the staff exceptionally helpful and friendly. Some of the restaurants were closed due to a fire but they were busy rebuilding and will soon be open again. There was plenty of good food and drinks to satisfy anyone. We met one person while in the pool and he told us this was his 10th time returning to this resort.

I had my doubts b/c my boyfriend planned this trip... but I was wonderfully surprised. One of the best resorts I've been to. The grounds were absolutely stunning & very well kept. The staff will do anything to please you. The entertainers become your friends. It's just an all-around wonderful vacation destination. The only negative was the quality of buffet food... The presentation was great but I thought the taste was lacking. The restaurant food was at a much higher level, make reservations early!

I would recommend this resort to anyone who was thinking of vacationing in the Dominican Republic! The rooms are gorgeous and spacious. They were cleaned daily and also our mini bar was restocked daily as well. The grounds were absolutely breathtaking. There was an assortment of food offered to please even the pickiest of palets. There were 6 of us that went. We had the All Inclusive package and i could have not had a better time. I fully intend on making this trip again and again!

Forget your troubles and just enjoy paradise! Beach, beach, beautiful beach. It was just the medicine that my husband and I needed after the long, cold winter. Service and accomodations were top notch. Food was excellent but not what your used to in the U.S. I highly recommend the excursions. They made the trip so much more memorable. We would return and recommend Bavaro Princess to our friends.

This place was awesome. I went on my honeymoon here and I cant imagine goin to a better place. I would definately recommend staying in a platinum suite if you are a drinker. We went platinum and we could drink whatever we wanted totally free whatever the brand. Non platinum were only availible off brand Normandy Liquer. Platinum gets corona and miller genuine draft beer and non platinum only get Presedente. Its all good, dont get me wrong, but its worth spending the extra money for the good stuff. The hotel room was nice and the A/C was good and cold. Staff was friendly and helpful and the food was great. Get the grilled lobster at EL PESCADOR. It was mouthwatering. DONT EAT THE SALADS. Me and my wife both got sick and im pretty sure it was the salad. Overall great trip and awesome honeymoon spot. GO PLATINUM!!

Nice beach, but beware of the Royal Holiday scam. We went there to enjoy our well earned vacation. All we wanted was to rest at the beach and spend time with the kids. Unfortunately we were conned by the Royal Holiday timeshare scheme into spending listening to the pitch. The original 30 min "meeting" turned into 90 minutes. Countless drinks later the managed to get a deposit out of me. The next day I asked for a refund and since no contract was sign they agreed to do so in writing. Three month later I am still waiting.
