"the resort itself was not what we thought..."

The resort staff were great, very attentive and nice, the resort itself was not what we thought, definitely not a 3.5 rating. The adult pool was horrible, the pool bar smelled so badly that you couldn't even stand to get near it to order a beverage. Apparently there was a 'filter/pump' issue, by the end of our trip, no one would even get in the pool, very disappointing. There were a ton of kids screaming throughout the hallways at all hours, night and day. We did not think that too many of the local vacationers were very respectful of other vacationers, very pushy and rude. Food was decent but you had to fight to get your way through the buffet lines for breakfast/lunch and when you did get your food, there were no tables or chairs, saw people eating while they were standing, not acceptable. Overall, if you are looking for a decent resort but don't have too high of expectations, then this is the resort for you.

AMAZING!! I've never stayed at such an amazing resort in my LIFE! Lovely staff, pool was nice, pool bars were crowded at times but the bartenders get to you asap. PACHA is a lot of fun and the nightly entertainment is spectacular! PLUSSS all of the men that work there are sooooo friendly and sexy ; ) RAMIRO! best trip EVER. RIU is only the best.

this hotel emits old world charm and hospitality. I was looking for a place that was Mexican inspired and we found it. The staff was exceptally helpful, curtious and willing to meet our needs. The food was outstanding and very diversified..Anyone on a special diet, being vegetarian,m gluten free, diabetic, etc. would have no trouble finding something o their liking. This trip was made due to our 45th wedding anniversary and we renewed our vows on the beach. It was a most memorable experience and met every expectation we imagined. The rooms were old world charm -- clean and neat. We wouldnit hesitate to return to tghis particular hotel in the future. The only down comment is not with the hotel but some of the guests who showed lack of respect for others, did not dispose of their refuse in a proper manner. You gave us a piece of paradise for an incredible aniiversary trip. Thank you. the staff of RIU Jalisco.

L am realy dissapointed in what some of the people said about the resort,that was our 2 nd trip to the Riu and we would not go any wher eles. the food was great. the beds were a bit hard but the rest was perfect, and the staff l wish we had them up here they were so nice and friendly and helpfull,they made you feel like you were long time friends, l would highly recomend it, we rate the staff on a scale of 1 to 10 we give them a20. with all the hundreds of people going through there a week they remembered us everytime we seen them al l have left to say about the Riu Jalisco is WATCH OUT RIU WE ARE COMMING BACK

The resort and hotel itself was absolutely beautiful and I have no complaints about that. I was there with 3 girlfriends for a girls weekend and Friday night after a fun night at the bar and disco we went to the sports bar to end the night and were immediately called bi..hes in spanish by all the other patrons at the the bar who were all spanish speaking. I guess they didn't think we knew what that meant and the bartender didn't seem to mind so we walked out. Being that the sports bar is the only place to get food at that time of night my friend went in to get food and was immediately called a white b..ch and again nothing from the bartender. So no i would not stay at the riu jalisco again cause i do not like being insulted even if it is in another language

We just returned from a wonderful week at Riu Jalisco. Because of these reviews, we requested a quiet room upon check in and they immediately moved us to the "condo" side of the resort. Every night was blissfully quiet. Every single staff person was personable, pleasant and some of the nicest people we've ever met. We walked on the beach and my husband spent a day fishing and they caught 6 fish. We sailed, kayaked and used the free boogie boards. The resort was spotlessly clean. The food was exceptional and I can't believe anyone wwould go hungry at this resort. The people who said they got sick must have used tap water to brush their teeth or had hangovers. The resort is noisy with constant activities and their nightly entertainment was fair to poor but we always had our quiet room and cable tv. We felt perfectly safe at all times--even on the bus to PV. I enjoyed my first cosmos and chocolate martini! We would absolutely recommend this resort to everyone!!
