Chad, Spokane WA Visted resort between 03/18/2007 and 03/03/2007 The RIU Resort in Cabo is beautiful and we had a very relaxing stay. I would point out a few things to watch out for however. There are 4 "premium" restaurants that you can set up resersvations for, but only from 11:00 to 4;00 - so go about 10:30ish. It can be hard to get into these restaurants as they only hold about 36 people at a time with an early and late setting. We tried two of the four and the Japanese place was the best and was very good. The steak house was not worth going to as Mexican beef taste somewhat "funny" and was overcooked. The buffets are not bad, and the food does change some daily. The resort was clean and make sure that you ask for "premium" liquer when ordering drinks and be specific. The pools were a little cold, but refreshing once you got in for a while. The workout gym was small. I ran to town on the beach which was hard work but fun and beautiful. The staff was very friendly and the place was clean. This is a good place to relax at and do not expect too much in the form of extras. There are always drinks and food available. Room service is limited, but okay. TV was limited. If you bring kids, bring a DVD player with movies. I would rate this resort as a 3.5 star resort, not a 5 star. We met a lot of people that have traveled to several other RIU resorts and thought this one in Cabo was pretty good. I heard when traveling to a RIU you know what you are getting becuase they are all very similar in the set up and the food, etc. Watch the prices for the resorts as the vary quite a bit. Brandy , Hailesboro NY Visted resort between 04/20/2008 and 04/04/2008 The resort itself is gorgeous,well manicured & always being cleaned.Always something going on by the pool(day) or upstairs(night),the staff was very entertaining.The staff was very friendly & very accomidating.It does not hurt though to take some singles with you & tip periodically whether it be your waitress,bartender,maid,etc..!We ate at 3 of the 4 restaurants and the buffets...the food was really good.Do bone up on your spanish and be patient with the staff 'cause many of them spoke minimal english which was no problem really.Tip:the water taxis are supposed to charge $5 per person don't let them rip you off!!You do have to wait in the lobby bar 4 rest. reservations & get there around 9am.Go snorkeling it was FUN.We would go back to the RIU Palace Cabo San Lucas!!!!
